The cat food is for a pet food drive we are having a work right now. Love picking up items to donate for free.

My Target (Northgate) had a TON of clearance in the office supply/party supply/gift wrap section. Most was 30%-50% off. If you are planning a princess party in the near future, they had an entire end-cap of everything you need (invites, plates, napkins, cups). Everything was 50% off.

Big Target Trip

Update on my post last night: After going over my receipts again, I realized that I had been charged the correct amount at Target. The error was in my calculations as I was putting this post together. Hey...I never claimed to be a math whiz. I stand by my assertions about double checking your receipts, but also recommend investing in a decent calculator.

Luckily, I had the above realization before I went back to Target. That would have been embarassing. When I was shopping I found my favorite Olay body wash on 50% off. I didn't have any coupons with me for it, but it was still a good deal. But I just knew there had to be a coupon out there. Sure enough, I got home and found 3 high value coupons for a FREE Olay Complete Moisturizer when you purchased an Olay Body Wash. That was worth a trip back to Target to return the 2 bottles I had bought and purchase 3 more, plus 3 moisturizers.

I hadn't been to Target in a couple weeks (shocking!), so this was a pretty big trip. I think I did pretty good considering over half of what I spent was on toilet paper and paper towels.

Stacking Coupons: Part 2

Earlier this week, I did a post on stacking coupons. Target just released a bunch of new web coupons that can be stacked with manufacturers' coupon for bigger savings. This would be a great place to start your coupon stash and practice stacking coupons.

Here are some coupon match-ups using the new Target web coupons and manufacturers' coupons that are either available as printable coupons or in todays' paper. Target web coupons links are in red, printable coupons links are in blue, and coupons from the paper are in black.

Target 75% off Toy Sale

I had been reading about the upcoming Target 75% off toy sale on some of my favorite blogs, like Totally Target and Thrifty NW Mom. Basically Target clearances out the toy department twice a year (January and July). The deals go from 30% off to 50% off and finally to 75% off. Well today was the day most stores went down to 75%. The biggest tip I learned was that you have to go the day the mark down to 75% off is taken to have any chance at a decent selection.

I stopped by one Target this afternoon and there was nothing left. The toys were completely picked over. I knew that another Target on my route had a ton of clearance toys last week (when they were 50% off) so I called to see if they had marked them down to 75% off. The operator told me everything was marked down, but things were going fast. Based on that assessment, I almost didn't stop....but boy was I glad I did.

I scored $117.05 worth of toys for $34.21! The Little Tikes golf was only 50% off, but I knew it would be a big hit with my son. These toys will cover 2 Valentine's Day presents, 1 Easter present, and 2 birthday presents for friends and family.

I'll definitely be watching the blogsphere when this sale comes around again in July and gives you a heads up.

HOT Deal on Target Gift Card

Update: Hmmm...looks like you may not be able to get the $5 credit through that link. Leave me a comment if you tried it out. You can still get a $10 gift card for $7, which is still something. Especially for us frequent Target shoppers.

Use this link to Deal Pulp to score a $10 Target gift card for only $2.

They have these gift cards for $7, but new members get a $5 credit.

I've mentioned my love of Target before and this is an awesome deal.

Recent Trip: Target (1/7/2011)

I LOVE Target. I cannot express deeply enough my love for this store. I don't know what it is about Target, but I could seriously spend hours there. My favorite "me time" is a solo trip to my local Target. I grab a latte from Starbucks (located inside my Target) and head down the aisles.

Unfortunately, my love for Target can yield some expensive shopping trips. But on a recent trip, I scored some great deals and spent less than $5.

(1) Snow Blanket (regular price $2.99. On 90% off Christmas clearance for $.29)
(4) Ortega Taco Shells (regular price $1.89. On sale for $1.25)
(1) Resolve In Wash Stain Remover (regular price $6.99. On sale for $6)
(1) Old El Paso Refried Beans (regular price $1.12)

I used some coupons:

(2) $1/2 Ortega products
(1) $.50/1 Old El Paso product
(1) FREE Resolve In Wash Stain Remover (this was a catalina coupon from another Target trip)

OOP = $3.94

My husband is very picky about his taco shells and refried beans and these are the ONLY brands he will eat. The Resolve may end up being a donate item because we love our Oxy Clean, so I'm not sure we will use it. But for free, I couldn't pass it up.
